PEEK Machining Services

MetalQuest offers CNC machining services for PEEK material (polyether ether ketone), a high performance thermoplastic with very high chemical resistance, high temperature resistance and dimensional stability. As an advanced engineering plastic, PEEK is used for custom machined parts that need to perform in extreme environments where reliability is critical.

We machine PEEK across our full suite of CNC platforms—Swiss, multi-spindle, turn-mill, and 5-axis—supporting everything from prototypes to high-volume production.

Why PEEK Machining is Special

PEEK is different from other plastics. With a high melting point and low thermal conductivity, machining PEEK generates heat at the tool’s cutting edge. This can cause surface cracks, tool wear and part deformation. Reinforced grades, such as glass reinforced PEEK, carbon fiber-filled PEEK or other PEEK reinforced variants, require careful process control due to their abrasive nature.

At MetalQuest we manage these challenges with:

  • Optimized feeds and high tool infeeds for stability

  • Advanced cutting tools, including coated inserts and diamond tooling when required

  • Precision workholding to reduce vibration and ensure high dimensional stability, combined with accuracy

  • High-pressure coolant and chip evacuation to dissipate heat effectively
